New Here
My account was just valadated for me to post here.
So my name is Ruben and I currently live in Louisiana. Back in 2004 my dad and I were looking for a project to do together. One day I was surfing the net looking for something we would both like when im came across a 1964 Dynamic 88. I gave him a call to come take a look at it and he fell in love with the car on sight.
I found her on gaspumpclassics.com and got the sellers information. I gave him a call and asked the necessary questions. She was located in North Carolina. Seller said only thing not shown in the pictures was a soft ball size dent in the passanger door. I thanked him for his time and hung up the phone. After about five minutes of disucssion dad and I decided to take a trip. So I called the seller back and told him we would be there in a week to take a look at her.
It was August 2004, I got off work at 4am on a Thursday. We loaded up in my Suburban and hit the road. My dad, mom, wife, and two kids (ages 4 and 1). So we drove from South Louisiana all the way to North Carolina.
That night we got a hotel room around midnight and at 3am, I was in the hospital with kidney stones (not a good feeling). After getting out of the hospital around 7am we went back to the room to get a little sleep. Around 10am we got up and I called the seller to let him know we were in town to take a look at her.
We arrived at the seller's home and of course no one was home. We sat in his driveway for 2 hours until he got home. He opened the garage and there she sat. She was beautiful and every thing the seller said she was. She started on the first crank. So i forked over some cash, filled out some paper work, got it notorised and I drover her away.
That night we drove to Atlanta, GA where we stayed the night in a hotel. In the hotel parking lot I was offered $10,000.00 (which was a good profit) that i turned down.
The next morning we got up and drove through a hurricane all the way back to Louisiana, on dry rotted bias tires.
Fast forward a few years and my dad has passed away but the body work was done before that. He was able to drive her a few times before. Now this year im getting ready to trailor her to my brother (certified mechanic) in Oklahoma. The plan is to put a shift kit in the transmission and pull the original 394CID and completly rebuild and dress it up all nice and pretty.
Ill add pictures of the progress as we go along with it.

Welcome to C.O.
My condolences on the loss of your Father. Sounds like you got along with him pretty well. I'm glad he got a chance to drive this after it was fixed up.
Your project is looking really nice and I'll bet you can hardly wait to get it to Oklahoma. Which version of the 394 do you have and are you building it back to stock?
