New here

Hi all,I just joined.I Picked up a 1971 442 and am going to have LOTS of questions. I had a 1970 olds 442 ragtop when i was a kid and have always thought about getting another so when this one popped up on local Craigslist as an unfinished project (AKA Divorce)with just about everything new and just needing some final tie up assembly and paint I grabbed it. Just about everything but the paint is new or rebuilt. Its a 1971 442: 455/4 speed, bench seat ( non console) viking blue car. I am the cars third owner, and it shows as its all stock and not cut up in any way. Unfortunately its not a W30 car, just a crappy old regular 442. Yep I have already experienced the local snobs turning up their noses at the car and informing me " you know thats not a W30 car it's really never gonna be worth that much...." Yeah, stuff it! LOL.
My main task seems it will be getting the body ready for paint. Luckily the bodies not that bad as it was a well cared for, garage kept car most of its life. It was an original vinyl roof car so theres a small bit of metal work I need to do in the rear window area ( of course).
My username is 44blue, but my real name is Neal and I live in Eugene Oregon

Welcome to the site Neal. I'm sure a 71 442 is plenty of fun. Good luck getting the body finished. Don't be scared to drive it when it gets new paint.
