New Guy From Utah

Hey guys. I've been lurking around here for a month or so. Just recently turned into an Olds fan. Been a Chevy/Pontiac guy my whole life.

I have been looking for a driveable project car for semi cheap, which I'm starting to think doesn't exist anymore, and came across a few 70-71 Cutlass Supremes that look like they could be fun. I was origionally looking at some 79 Trans Ams but I like that you never see many Olds' around. I think it'd be nice to be different.

My current fun car is an 06 Z06 which is a blast but I'd also like something from the muscle car era. Sorry for rambling but thought I should say hi.

Welcome, an Olds is probably the best value for the buck compared to it's Chevy or Pontiac counterpart. There are some real deals out there, and parts for most are reasonable rather plentiful. Good luck with your quest.

Welcome to our site. IF you have questions regarding the worth of a car feel free to start a thread in the General Discussion forum or appropriate car forum (ie. Cutlass, 98/88, Pre War Oldsmobiles). Please post a link to the advertisment for the car your looking at. Be aware though that it is difficult to determine the value of a car without actually seeing it. We'll at least try to point out pros and cons of the car and give you a ball park figure.

FWIW, here is a link to a 75 Cutlass in Western Slope:

http://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/4100593471.html

I don't know what your budget is but I also saw a pristine 72 Cutlass convertible for sale in Salt Lake for 16k:

http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/ctd/4110925738.html

IMHO, the 75 would be a fun project, while the 72 you could jump in and drive anywhere. Here's one more for you to consider:

That 75 is kind of cool but the 72 is more my style. Just a bit out of my range. I might still go check it out though. Thanks man!!

There's a few 442's listed on ksl. One looks to be a pretty clean 65 for $14,900. Good luck with the search, I had to go out of state for mine.

I don't blame him, the thing looks way clean and original owner/61,000 miles to boot.

I wish he would have priced it this low 2 months ago, I would have picked it up but, at that time he had it listed at near 50k.

Thanks! I'm hoping to find something. I'm looking for a 70-72 Cutlass. Preferably in decent condition body wise, I hate body work, and ideally under $5k.
