Umm, because that's where the largest market is???

There are some Canadian sources too, but in the long run the $$ for US currency and shipping make them as expensive as Canadian parts anyway. Plus the big vendors in the US carry waaaay more product selection than their Canadian counterparts.

I'm thinking there's nothing you're going to rant about related to shipping and parts distribution that hasn't been already said. Good luck with your 69 project. Post a pic of the beast when you get a chance.

tonights rant

A little story, on my way to cruise night in Cobden I was on the highway doing about 100klm on the curve with two Harleys to the left of me just passing me when the poop hit the fan the left front wheel bearing let go and curve going right lets say Joey Chetwood and the hell drivers could not have done better I did not hit the bikers and managed to use all three lanes of the road and saved her. She is now at home having some quiet time for me I need a change of shorts!

Well, no-one was hurt, your car is in one piece, and you have joined the best site there is for help with your car, on your way to the auto parts store to buy your new bearing, stop off and buy a lottery ticket while your luck is running.
Mechanical parts aren't much of a problem over here, although shipping may take a couple of days from specialist dealers, sheet metal is an altogether different matter though.
But we know this, maybe part of the fun of the hobby for us is having something very different on the road.

Roger.

That's pretty good timing, now you can install those disc brakes you have been dreaming about.

Don't you just hate autocorrect? Hotchkis is what you meant, right?

you are correct. the front bar was quite the challenge to git the front mounts bolted to the car.

??Why? They should be a straight bolt on. Was the spacing wrong on the new mounts or the bolts the wrong thread? If the front bar was the same OD as the OEM one I'd have just used the old mounting brackets and upgraded the bushings. Slam dunk. The front OEM bar is fairly decent 7/8" I believe. What OD did you change to?

front bar is 1 3/8 , the spacing of the bolts were about 1/4 narrower I overcame and adapted it rides a lot tighter.
