New guy from NC

new guy from nc. joined to find out more about the cutlass cruiser. My grandmother is giving me her 1980 cutlass cruiser whitch was my grandfathers before they devoriced 20 odd years ago. Nice thing about it is i was adopted by my grandfather 13months after i was born. and after seeing my biological parents and everythign that has happened im glad i was adopted. (for the record i dont call him grandpa i call him dad. that what i grew up with him as a father firgure and he is the best dad i could ever ask for) Anyways back to the car. as i sayed it is a 1980 origanly had the Diesel motor in it but if im correct my dad(grandpa) put a 350 in it a long time ago. Which ima ultimatly pull and probly put a 383 stroker in it if i cant get the current engine to run. (if we were all rich id slide a LSX454 or a 1970 on back 455 BB) body is stright and to my knowledge no rust ( MAJOR PLUS) if i keep the engine just rebuild it and move the shifter from teh column to the floor. new exhaust (headers all the way back) and probly get flowmaster 40 series (if i dont find something better by then) change the rear axle from drum to disk (for more apeal) and drop it about 2 inchs. Put 17x8 or 18x8 front and 17x10 or 18x10 rear. (dk what wheel just yet) and havent desided on paint.

i cant find anythign on the interent about the cruiser model but everythign else about the rest of the cutlass's. if anyone has more info about them please lead me int eh right direction towards it. much abliged.

my DD is a 96 S10 blazer so for oldsmobile people is a Bravada with a bowtie.

i graduated this year and getting ready to turn 18 in less then a month. i may be young but have alot of automotive education under my belt. all the automotive avalible at my highschool and autobody at my local Collage. (plus dad(grandpa) was a mechanic all his life so all knowledge he passed to me) and just wanting to show the world what young hands can create.

future plans is opening a body shop with my highschool buddy that shares the same passion about cars as me (fast and loud) he's into pontiac though. his dad has a 68 gto and a 78 T/A smokey and the bandit edtion Y82 with original 6.6 and everything. Its in primer ATM (which is me and my friends little project) fun story with that is his sister has got a new car and the same day she backed into the front of the T/A. cracked the bumper a little on the T/A but cracked the whole driver side rear fender to peiced and took a chunk out of the quarter.

well enough about my personal life as im shure its puting everyone to sleep. im looking forward to hear from all of you and looking at everyones nice rides and builds.
