Wink New Guy Introduction

Well guys, allow me to introduce myself.I am Flasheroo but will go by Jim if thats OK.
A fellow that goes by Blue Vista recommended you guys to
me and I have been active on GM Longroof for quite some time.I have 2
wagons but the special wagon is my 91 Olds Custom Cruiser that I have
had the pleasure of owning for almost 8 years.Bought it from the original
owner back in june of 04.At the time of purchase it had just over 54000
miles showing and now presently has just 72000 miles.Due to health problems I
dont drive much but enjoy my wagon everytime I go out.My other wagon is a 95 Buick
Roadmaster that I bought because I thoughtI needed the LT-1 power.
After spending some time driving it I found the Olds to be my favorite wagon. The power is nice
but these wagons were
not built to be fast.I feel the olds is a better looking wagon than the buick or the caprice.
Please dont hold being friends with Blue Vista against me because he cant really help himself.
Looking forward to getting to know all of you one Olds at a time.
Flasheroo aka Jim Gordon

455 Transplant

Hey Al whats happening.Speaking of cheby engines go check out the B
body wagons at www.speartech.com and go to the bottom and check
out the project cars.They put a fuel injected 454 in a 91 and a LT-1
in another 91.This made me think, why cant we put a fuel injected
Olds 455 in our wagons and make them a true Oldsmobile again?
I mean if a 454 fits why not a 455?Dimension wise there is a
moderate difference in the two big blocks.Go to this site and look
at all the space the 454 has around the steering shaft.
I know you dont have too much room for thought but try.

I'll even admit I don't have much but I still have a tiny bit of room for thought left.

I was thinking about looking around for an LOQ 350 to grab in case my engine does a death dance in the future but now I'm rethinking things.
That 454 does fit nicely, the Olds 455 would probably fit in there?
I'm old school and fuel injection is still a mystery to me but I'm a fast learner.
My late friend had at least four still in the crate 1970 LS6 454 engines he bought when he was a mechanic at a GM dealer back in the day. I had made a deal to get one with him but that all fell through. The chebby guys would have gone nuts seeing one of those things in an Olds wagon.
The new thing is to take out the Olds engine and put an LS engine in and it has been the reason for some highly spirited debate around here. Trying to make your factory chevy engine equipped Olds into an all Olds vehicle with a 455 is a different angle. There should be plenty of nice 455's around for sale that came out of Oldsmobiles for LS swaps too.

Smile Not Necessary

Thanks guys and girl for the great welcome to the group. From the looks
of things you guys all love your cars a lot.In Al's case he probably loves
his wagon too often and firmly.Anyhow looking forward to getting
to know all of you better especially you cutlassgal!Just kidding!
Al I am already looking for a Olds 455 and you had better be too!Should
be relatively easy to incorporate our TBI fuel injection system as long
as the cam specs are kept somewhat conservative.
