Welcome to CO, Dokks74! Beautiful '40 2 door, too bad it had to go, but you got another Olds, anyway! Friend in Tyler has two '40 4 doors, one of them a Best of Class at OCA events. Beautiful car, runs so quietly with the big ol' straight 8. Also have friend on here who (lives in Weatherford) has a '40 90 series coupe he bought earlier this year. I hope to get to see it this weekend at our Zone Show.

I got the 40 off of ebay last spring. I got a great price on it as I was close to the seller, and made him an offer.. Actually, I asked what the reserve was and offered him $1500 less if he wanted cash that day. He took it. I drove the car for 1 1/2 years, putting approx $50 bucks into her. This past July I put her on craigslist to see what she was capable of bringing in. I put a crazy dollar amount on her, and you know the rest of the story. Someone made ME an offer and away she went. It broke my heart as the car was a great car, but the guy I sold it to had 2 other 40's so it went to a good home. I spent $50 bucks on her over the course of 18 months, and sold it at a profit of $1500 bucks.
