New Guy from Florida

My name is Kevin and I just purchased a 1964 Starfire convertible from the original owner with 126k miles. Car hasn't run since 2017 and the carb needs rebuilding.

Welcome.
What part of Florida are you from?

As far as your carb, call up Daytona Parts.
They have a kit for you 4GC.

Welcome. Make sure you get the factory manuals for your 64 Olds. I think there were 6-8 manuals that year. I had them years ago when I owned my 64 98, they come up on Ebay from time to time.

Thanks. I couldn't pass it up for the price (paid 5k), and I'll add it to my growing collection.

I bought a 4gc kit from Rock Auto. Seemed to be a good quality product.

I ordered the rebuild from Fusick and made sure I got both the Fuel Pump and Carb kit and verified they were ethanol ready.

I was reading the post from Charlie on rebuilding the 4GC and never even thought about the jet upgrade for ethanol, so I'll be upsizing those jets when rebuilding.

I'll most likely get those from Daytona.

Tim recommended that while this carb had 126k on it that it would probably be ok as it had normal wear and tear (opening them up to about the sizes you recommended), but I opted to buy new jets just the same.
