New guy from Chicago area

Hi, I bought my 65 Cutlass in August. It is an unrestored car and I intend to keep it that way, just repairing things to keep it in good condition.

My front seats have some deterioration with a split in the driver's seat back and small damage in the passenger's seat sitting area. I was looking for seat covers, but find that the ones available are not the correct slate blue that my car has. I don't want to put in something that is so far off in color that the next owner won't know what the original color is.

Welcome, beautiful car. Try taking it to an upholstery shop, they may be able to repair the seats.

great car. a few other places you can check into are

Ogden top and trim - in Berwyn
Temme in Elmhurst on grand avenue
and there a place I went to working on a bunch of Oldsmobiles last summer up in Libertyville on RT 120 I believe.

If any of those are near you and you are interested PM me and I can give you more info

Did you check out Legendary interiors, they may have more accurate color match - everyone seems to say they have great products

I took it to Riggs Bros on the way home, the day I purchased it. He said the rest of the cover was too brittle to do a repair. There is also the color mat problem. SMS has a good color match, but it is off enough to notice if a patch was done. New covers would be OK, but it is out of my budget to have custom covers made.

This is going to be my touring car for longer rides. I intend to just repair things that affect driving the car. I have a 40 Mercury that I show and drive. It is getting too hard to tour with that car in today's traffic.

2)Automotiveinteriors.com
3) Orlando Top/Trim Ashland Ave south of Grand in Chicago
