New Guy Checking In. 1955 Super 88

Hi guys!- I just found myself a 1955 Olds Super 88. 324ci 4bbl. Factory A/C, not dealer add on! She was refurbished in the early 90's, and has been kept in a metal building in central Texas since then. I bought it from the second owner, a 93 year old man! Needs some love, but the body and interior are in great shape.
Btw, my first car was a rusted out 69 olds Delta 88 Convertible. 455, power everything and A/C. It was a great car, till I got tboned! Look forward to learning and sharing with y'all. -Cal

As you can see, I am going to need a set of tail light lenses. So, if any one has a set for a fair price, shoot me PM. Thanks!

If you can't find them used they are repoped and can be found in Fusick's catalog part #5945797.

I wasn't aware that 55 had dash mounted AC vents,First I've ever seen. They even look different than 56 vents, thats gotta be a rare bird indeed.... Tedd

Got my car home yesterday and started the clean up. She looks alot better with a decade worth of dust washed off! Pulled the plugs and have the cylinders soaking in SeaFoam deep creep for a few days before i try to turn it over. I'll let y'all know how that goes!
Tedd- thanks for the info. I added Fusicks to my Favorites!

Finally got my car home! Washed it good, and cleaned up the interior. Pulled out the spark plugs and filled the cylinders with Seafoam Deep Creep. It has been sitting for about ten days. I am at the Pate Swapmeet this weekend, tracking down a few things i need. When I get home and time allows, I'll try the motor. Fingers crossed!!

Welcome to co and that is a nice looking old car.I can never get enough of the old styling. So many vehicles stood out all their own.I like fiftys vehicles alot.I ended up with a 60's era and seems 60's and 70's was the time of the biggies. But you give me a fifties and back and the fun I could have with it.
