New Guy
I learned to drive in a '53 88 2 door in the early '60s. My first new car was a white with red interior '67 442. I don't have an Olds right now but I still love them. This looks to be a fun place to talk Oldsmobile.

Welcome to C.O. Tom
No worries that you don't have another Olds...yet. The hobby is somewhat addictive. This is a GREAT site to just talk Olds if that's what you're after. If you're looking for a project or an already restored or driver car, this is also a great site for the references.

Welcome form the left coast
After awhile to find yourself drooling over the keyboard and counting little Oldsmobile's trying to get to sleep. Finally you'll start waking up with the cold sweats and calling your wife/girlfriend/kids/ etc, 442, or 88 or W30........................ Next step the nut house unless you get one. The clock is ticking

Thanks for the welcome. Here is the '53 that I learned to drive in. My older brother backed it into a pole and it was very rusty at the end before my parents traded it off. I loved that old car.
The next picture is my driveway where I used to live in Ft. Wayne circa 1980. The white car I bought new. The gold one I paid $200. for and drove home. Actually half of $200. The guy across the street was also an Olds guy and needed the engine/trans for a '68 convertible he was fixing up. The car had new front fenders installed at one time so It was worth the money. The body and doors and floor were beyond saving so I parted it out. It was a 10 bolt Highway Cruising package with transistor ignition, shoulder harnesses, and tack and gauges. Other than that it was a drum brake auto in the console. I kept every salvageable part off of this car no matter how small. All of the parts went to the buyer of the white car in the early '90s when I didn't have anyplace to keep it inside any longer. He was a restorer that specialized in Cadillacs and '67 442s in the Warren Ohio area. Later I found the p/s pump and mounts and the alternator and brackets in another box. I tripped over that stuff just the other day. It looks a whole lot better in the picture than it was.
Note the deer impact area on the white car right front fender.
