When you say old Olds just how old are you talking about. Depending on your age it could be an 84, now to me that's new and my 48 now that's middle age like me

thank you for the welcome.
i'm guessing this olds is in the mid 1920's.
just fell apart when i moved it.
it has wooden spoke wheels, mechanical brake bands instead of shoes,
a 6 cylinder flathead, updraft carb, a tappet side cover with oldsmoble stamped on it and the spark plugs say " reflex " and are dated 1916.
the only numbers i could find are on the body tag.
( fisher body detroit michigan, job No. 8990, body No. 3466.)
i hope some one can help me ID this one.

Welcome! My folks live in Indian River, we spend some time in the UP snowmobiling once a year or so. I also used to have a customer in Marquette that I used to go see every February. Some pretty scary rides in the winter up there.

Man, when you said you got on old Olds you were not kidding around!

 

i found out what my old olds is.
its a 1928 olds.
the engine is all complete, so i'm trying to free it up.
i wan't to try to get it running.
i'll post again later when i have made some progress.

AACA and National Antique Olds Club memberships will serve you well with a 1928.

The AACA folks will know who, how and where to repair the wood body structure. NAOC has a model year advisor program. OCA Treasurer Gene Crowdis owns a 1928 and is on here very infrequently.


www.reoldsmuseum.org will be a good resource and they're in Lansing.

 

having some success with this 1928 olds engine.
after almost a month of spraying pb blaster in the spark plug holes, she broke loose. i have rebuilt the distributor and the starter. got the water pump freed up too. next projects are the carb and fuel pump.
i'll post again later with (hopefully) more success.
