Hi all! I'm new to the forum, I was recommended by a fellow forum member to join (ent72olds).

I've got a copy of the article right in front of me. Nice car! I just purchased a 64 this past April (from the original owner) and we are now begining the restoration. I am 99.9% sure that the car is a real 442 but would like to research the documentation a little further. I have the protect-o-plate and the previous owner is attempting to find the original paperwork including the window sticker. It is a Holiday coupe in a regal mist. Car was rough, but complete. If you have any suggestions, websites or anything else that could help in the restoration, I would appreciate it.

I noticed that his car doesn't have wheel well mouldings in the pictures on the Hemmings website link, just the rocker panel molding. Doesn't mean it's not a true 442 though and doesn't take away from the work he put into it as it is an absolutely awesome machine and good looking to boot. Good job. I never heard that true '64 442's have to have wheel well moldings and I'm not sure about it. Can you point to the thread that Dennis states this in? Are you referring to the front emblem ahead of the wheel wells, maybe I'm mistaken?

Secondly, how the heck do I contact this Dennis Urban guy, is he actually on this forum? Does he have an email I can reach him at?

Dennis is an Oldsmobile Club of America advisor, expert on 1964 442. Go to the following link, download the application and join. A wealth of info. Once you have joined, you can reach Dennis, a guarantee you will find out everything you need. A couple other links you might find helpful:

Once you get ready to start the restoration, give me a yell and I'll send you some links of parts providers. Speaking to the wheel well trim, very hard to find, however, although I'm having mine refinished, I ordered 2 very nice ones from http://www.billionsandtrillionsinc.com/. They were very expensive, so check out with Dennis or one of the other websites wether or not they came on the F-85, I'm not sure. I know all of the cutlass Holiday Cccoupe 442s had them. By the way, Billions and trillions is great site, you'll spend alot of time just looking at there gallery. Amazing.
