Exclamation New gearhead from FL

Hi all
I've decided to start looking for my next project (last was a 69 XKE OTS - ground up) so...
I'm looking for a 62 olds f85 Cutlass Supreme convertible to restore. This is a car I owned in college, met my wife in it, and drove it all over the US, Canada and Mexico with amazingly few problems. It had a OEM Hurst 4speed stick.
Many thx to anyone who can help....

Just how much drinking did you do in college?

You may have a hard time finding one of these as the name "Supreme" was not attached to any Cutlass until 1967, the first year for the Cutlass Supreme. Prior to that, every Cutlass was just a Cutlass. The first Cutlass "S" appeared in 1969.

Welcome to CO and sure hope you find your '62 Cutlass soon. Maybe someone here will have a lead for you. Post in the "cars wanted" section.

Could be. I was just going by what it said in the production records section of "Setting the Pace." No mention of Cutlass S's until 1969.

The Old Cars Price Guide shows the same thing. The first year they give values for Cutlass S's is 1969. For '68 it's just Cutlasses and Cutlass Supremes.

Exclamation Maybe it's my "Supreme" age...

To clarify: I'm in Bonita Springs, FL.
And tho I always knew it as a F85 Cutlass Supreme, but it had the SINGLE chrome "spear" in the center of the hood (NOT the two spears as in the turbo jetfire or NOT the plain no spear hood) and the wide chrome bands wrapping the back of the front bucket seats.
I've read some blogs talking about a compass in the steering wheel, but I have no memory of that feature.

Welcome to the site! It would be cool to replace the car you used to have. How much of a project do you want? Something that's a driver or something that hasn't driven for 20 year? I'm asking as there was a 1961-63 Cutlass convertible for sale locally not long ago, but from what I remember it would need everything to restore it. If your OK with a major project I'll try to locate the sale ad and see exactly what it was. John

Thx guys
I 'll check out the FL club and a large project is ok but I don't want a complete rust bucket this time. The more bang for the buck the better
