New frenchie
Hi everybody !
My name is Denis LOISEAU (it's pronouncing Deni Lwazo and the traduction of LOISEAU could be THE BIRD) and I'm french (nobody's perfect...).
I love american cars since i was fourteen. I always say "American classic cars, you fall love with them 2 times : the first time when you see it and the second time when you hear it !" Of course, because in Europe, most of cars are 4 cylinders with diesel engines, so amercan cars have a fabulous and uncommon sound (music). American classic cars are quiet expensive in France because of shipping but three years ago (I'm now 46 years old), i decided to buy my first american classic car : a '67-'68 Mercury Cougar ! I looked for it for three years and saw many other cars. One day, I saw an announce for a '72 Cutlass Supreme. I had already saw fastback Cutlass on meetings but never a Supreme one and... I felt in love when I saw it. So I quickly took my car and 5 hours after, I arrived to see it. What a beautifull car ! Of course, I felt in love with it a second time when I heard its 455 ci and... I baught it.
This car come from a one owner family in Kalamazoo (Michigan) and I have all the documents since April 1972. I baught it last february and now, this winter, i will begin the first maintenance operations.
I'm really happy to join your community.
PS : I hope my writing was not too bad.
See you soon. Denis.

Bienvenue a Classic Olds.
We have no dislike of French people here -- only French cars.
(Though I will admit I very much enjoyed a friend's Dyane 6 I used for a few weeks in Italy back in the 80s, and I love the similar 2CV as well as the 7CV and the DS).
Please do post photographs.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some but if you're looking for anything just ask on here and someone will help.

Besides SS1's or SS2/3's ain't nothing better than a set Keystone classics or Cragar SS's just old school!
Nice looking car! That came from my neck of the woods, about 1.5 hrs away from where I live.

Thanks for posting the pictures of your car. You've purchased a very nice car with a great history. I very seriously considered purchasing the car. The car was discussed at length here on Classic Oldsmobile when I introduced the following thread titled, "1972 Cutlass Supreme with factory 455". I ended up purchasing an original 34,000 mile 1970 Cutlass Supreme with factory AC. The thread explains my need for an AC car. I'm glad the '72 found a good home and a happy owner. I hope it brings you a lot of enjoyment.
Happy Oldsmobiling,
Keith
