New to the Forum (69 Cutlass Ragtop)
Hi all, just joined the Classic Oldsmobile Forum. I picked up a 69 Cutlass Convertible this past summer. Grandmom car that had been sitting in a garage for the last 11 years. Needs a little body work and a paint job, but overall my dream come true. Basically joining to have a quality resource to reach out to well seasoned Olds people on questions I have as I bring this car back to life.

Wow, how many grandmothers bought Cutlass convertibles back when they were new? Of course, this lady probably wasn't a grandmother then?
My grandfather bought Pontiac Catalina sedans back then. Not that I wouldn't mind have one of those today, too, but I'd rather he bought Cutlasses!

Welcome, Tuffy. Give the car a thorough inspection.
Frame and floor are good Ill assume? Chassis and suspension good?
Make it safe before making it pretty. Brakes, rubber brake lines, tires, service wheel bearings, change ALL filters and fluids... hoses belts t-stat, etc...
Words of advice...keep all parts removed, do not turn them in as cores. Rebuild vs replace(carb master cylinder water pump et al).
Nothing beats old school USA made OEM parts. Steer clear of anything offshore(it's all chineasium junk).
Several restoration vendors offer many reproduced parts. Some are better than others(ask us). Always ask the vendor where it was made. Again OEM USA made is better/safer.
Pictures of the car, please!
