New-er Member and I just bought a 57 Super 88

Hello, my name is Christina and I just got a 1957 Olds, Super 88 Four Door. I am in Dayton Ohio and manage Burton Antique Auto Parts. We reproduce antique Ford Parts. So I really do not know that much about Olds.

I bought this car from my previous boss's estate. He was planning on finishing the car but never got around to it. It runs and the interior is solid. I need to paint it and rechrome a few things. I bought it because I wanted to see that it got finished. It is currently an original color, "rose mist" and I really want to keep it as original as possible.

I am currently in college and working so it will take a very long time before the car is finished. Luckily I work next door to a polish/plating shop and a custom/hot rod shop. So I am close to many resources! Along with this forum...

I have come to meet a lot of people in the antique ford hobby and I hope to meet many more in the Olds. That's the best part of my job, is meeting and talking with people all over the country and the world.

Nice to meet you all! Hopefully when I charge my camera up I will post photos of my car for everyone.
Christina

Welcome! A former Cincy resident here. '57 Olds is worth preserving. Kudos to you for taking on the task!

You know Ransom E. Olds beat Henry Ford to the starting line both when it came to producing a car, and to implementing the production assembly line? I will admit that Henry did a few things right along the way, as evidenced by the fact his company is still in business!

Again, welcome to the wonderful world of Oldsmobile!

Welcome form the left coast

Hi, from another 57 owner. You have chosen a great year to own. Any questions ask away. There are a number of 57 owners on site. Some from European and Scandinavian countries as well

I will get in the back room here and get some photos. The lighting isn't good back there but I will see if I can get some decent photos.

Photos of 57

Here you go: This is as it is currently. Hopefully in the next few weeks a local shop with go through it mechanically and make sure there are no major problems. I am intending to keep it as original as possible.

It is currently being stored at the back of this building. There's 6 separate areas in the building, where it is at now is kind of a catch all.
I'm excited to get started.

The shop doing the work is in this building, along with where I work, and a polish/plate shop. So I have a one-stop for everything
