im new.. just bought my first olds

just got my first muscle car, a 72 cutlass with a built chevy 402, w/ a 4 spd. i have no clue y the guy i bought it off of put a chevy 402 in it but whatever..
it came with a bunch of extra chrome trim im looking to sell, if anybody is interested, (just throwing it out there), its going to be a project for sure, as im finding that the car was put together kinda half assed, its in great shape, goes great and straight but really should be re-wired..
iv got alot of parts to buy as well, seats, door seals, window trim, ect.
im new to this site so if someone could help me navigate to where i may be able to find this stuff that would be great
thanks

Welcome to the site, there are alot of vendors out there Fusick, Super cars unlimited, OPG, Year One, BAP, The Paddock... You can search any of these for just about any of the smaller parts you need, Fusick seems to be a favorite around here FWIW. As for seats do you need the whole thing or just the seat covers foam, etc? If you need the whole thing local car show swap meets would be a good starting point if you are looking for OEM stuff, as shipping on those puppies is pretty steep. As for the goods to redo the factory seats the above mentioned parts houses carry all of that.

The standard answers...

It was cheaper!

You can't make an Olds motor run, they're junk!

I had it laying around!

I really wanted a Chevelle but I couldn't afford one so I made me one!

It's all GM! What's the problem! (This one especially burns me up )

As can be expected out of a lot of Chevy-into-Olds engine swaps.

Unless you tackle it yourself, remember with that Chevy engine you'll need a Chevrolet engine wiring harness. The other harnesses (forward lamp, dash, rear body etc) are pretty much common to all the A-body cars and most repro wiring companies have them.

Fusick is a respected Olds supplier. Others you may find are Tamraz, The Parts Place, Year One, OPGI. There's still some NOS floating around but it gets expensive real quick.

PUI or Legendary for interior, Steele Rubber for weatherstrip and rubber parts.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've got some project to work on. Post any questions you have and I'm sure we can help you get everything straightened out.

Did the seller give you the original Olds engine, brackets, etc with the car?

Welcome to CO

Sounds like you have a project on your hands. Good luck with your parts search.

Sounds like you need a tranny re-build. There are some tranny guys here they will chime in with ideas.

Good luck
