Cool New dude from Los Angeles

Hey Guys. Names Henry. I'm currently working on a 69 Cutlass Supreme with the 455 swapped in from an Old 71 Vista Cruiser. I joined up because I needed advice on the engine rebuild. I want to maximize horsepower but keep it a) streetable and b) naturally aspirated (not like running boost seems to go too well for olds engines usually from what I've read) It's being tied to a T56 running back to a Currie rear end with 4.55 gears and a wavetrac diff. It rides on a Hotchkiss TVS II suspension system bolted to a boxed frame with Wilwood Brakes front and rear and sits on Weld S71's. The interior is super stripped down. No arm rests, No heater, no vents, No back seat, no headliner, no carpet. Just the bare essentials to keep it street legal and power windows for slightly more mellow cruising. That, and speakers hidden under the seat. Right now it's with the body guys getting cleaned up and then everything starts getting bolted together. Looking forward to sharing the journey and if anyone has any good 455 build combos they have please let me know! For example... stroker kit?

Welcome to the site, sounds like a nice project. Post some pictures when you get a chance. I also suggest reading through some of the builds in the performance and big block sections.

Here's the biggest tip I can help you with, stay away from Mondello Performance.

................ and that being said, Mondello Performance is a guy with chit reviews in Paso Robles, Ca............ then there's Bernard Mondello who is the original Joe Mondello's son. Bernard has a shop in Corona, Ca. (951) 371-1432 and is a VERY trustworthy, extremely knowledgeable and has been building the Olds platform since he was a kid working with his dad. So before you buy anything give him a call, don't bullchit the man cuzz he doesn't like strokes, tell him what you want and he's the man that can provide the parts.
