New Cutlass fan/owner

Hello All.
I just purchased a 1970 Cutlass Supreme. Thought I'm not an experienced car guy, my intention is to fix it up. Gotta learn/start sometime! I have a Rocket 455 and TH400 tranny that may find it's way into the car? Thanks in advance for any help received.
