New to CO, not to Olds though

Thought I’d say hi, new to the site but not Oldsmobiles. I had a 1970 cutlass supreme, a 71 Cutlass S, and now a 68 cutlass S. My wife’s first car was a 78 cutlass supreme and we still have it but as a ND car it’s rough currently.

I’ve always been an Olds fan since I was 16, but have always liked the BOP over Chevy A bodies, but still like those too. I’ve always bought cutlass/442 hot wheels etc.

On eBay my user id is 70cutlasssupreme, on bmx museum it’s 71cutlasss.

Still figuring out the site and how it works and all that. Have met some super cool people too already which is nice!

The wheels and tires are sold, hoods been traded. This is a 2 owner amateur drag car so I’m going to bring it back to stock. It was a high school kid who bought them to put on his 67/68 camaro, with a mullet and a jean jacket who is a big 80’s fan. I thought it was pretty cool.

Im having a bit of a rocky start here so I apologize.

Welcome aboard, from another CO resident! (pun intended ) You've probably read that we like pictures. I like the Orange! Your mirrors are the chromed version of those I had on my '68 Cutlass S back in the day (below, left).

Very rocky....welcome to the group! I'm not sure if you know, but that is not a factory Oldsmobile color, nor are the wheels, nor is the hood scoop, nor is the ride hight/stance. By the way your front bumper looks to be drooping more then 5/8" according to factory specs... just trying to be helpful (I know you did't ask). See attached factory specs (I can help you!):

The car looks cool in the pic.

if the front bumper is just bent they are relatively easy to bend back if you take it off the car.

Welcome to the site. That is a nice looking '68 in the picture you posted! Maybe a little damage at the right front, hopefully not too bad. Keep us posted on your progress.

Yeah it looks like it got pushed in the center a bit. I’ve been working on the mechanicals, I was told it just needed fluids changed but it needs a lot more than that. Just about everything coolant related will be changed. Radiators shot, water pump and t stat housing are all super corroded, hoses are shot. Almost everything is leaking lol. Fuel pump failed as soon as I got it home, wirings a disaster, power steering leaks everywhere. Lots of work needed here.

Welcome. I saw your car posted for sale somewhere in the last couple years. The hood is a dead giveaway. Fortunately the hood is a Supreme/F85 style which are relatively inexpensive to find if you want to go back to near stock. The body itself looks to be a Cutlass S by the trim. Personally I'd dump the rubber fuel line and plastic filter between the fuel pump and the carb. It's a fire hazard. I like to run a metal filter on the suction side of the pump.

The orange hood was traded for this one. Unfortunately it’s rougher than it looks in the pics but I’m not sure how easy these are to find and the scooped hood was not staying on.

When it’s said and done, I’d like it to look similar to this. Maybe a 442 clone, maybe not. I’m not a purist. The original color was jade gold.

Best I have now of my wife’s Olds after it was fixed in 1995. The grille was all that could be found, in a junkyard in Montana.

Will you go back to jade gold? Or white like the ram rod?

both look nice the jade gold is a unique color. Im not really sure what color is depends on the lighting …brown, green, goldish….i like it.
