Smile new on the block

Hi just found this site as i was looking for info on my 56 super 88 holiday

I'm looking for the proper radiator cap. the one on my car shows 7 lbs, but I don't know if it is the correct cap. auto zone doesn't list 1956 and a 1960 shows a 12-15. Can someone help? Thanks!

Go to www.fusick.com and download their "early Olds" catalog, #570 (hit the "Download Catalog" button at the bottom center of the page). On page 69, part number RC1R, radiator cap for all 1949 to 1956 Oldsmobiles. $26.50 plus shipping.

Welcome aboard, and yes 7-8 pounds would be correct for a 56. Most all cars of that era ran low pressure caps. X2 on the pictures.... Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

Thanks I'll post some pics when I learn how... Fusick is always my last resort as their prices are so inflated and they don't list the pressure. my NAPA store says their book says 7-10 lbs and they have one in stock. so I'll give it a shot at 7.00.

Thanks again- sure I'll enjoy this site,,,,,,,Lee

Take a look at the sticky near the top of the newbie section and it will give you the 101 of how to post a picture. You can start a thread and add text or add text then put in your pictures, doesn't matter. but you must not have to large a file or it won't post....Tedd
