New 72 Cutlass owner

Hi everyone. Just picked up my first Cutlass about 2 weeks ago. I bought it to be a winter project over the next few years. Initial plan was to do some minor body work it requires and paint this year. That plan has since changed as I have found the stem on #3 exhaust valve has mushroomed. Since I will be pulling the heads I have decided to pull the engine and tranny. Engine will get a total rebuild with performance upgrades and the tranny will get a reseal. I'm sure I will need some advice along the way as I am probably going to throw a posi and disc brakes on the front as well.

Congrats on the car. I love these cars. And I see your's has few nice up grades including the floor shifter.

Do you know any of the history on the car?

I don't know much about the car at this point. I know they are not the original seats. Most of the car is original except for the fact is has been painted before. I has a 4 spd Saginaw in it currently but I'm not sure if it was an original 3-4spd car or an auto at this point. It has a Rocket 350 engine with 7A heads which from what I read are still decent. I'm not really sure if the engine is number match or not but it doesn't matter to me as I will be changing some things anyway.
