New 58 Fiesta owner in WV

Hi all! My name is Rick and I'm in WV.

I just purchased a 58 Fiesta and love the style! It unfortunately needs some work and I have never had a 50's car before so there will be a learning curve. Looking forward to driving this car. I'll definitely be spending time in the forums looking for help and advice. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately no, it was swapped to a modern LS engine at some point.

I like the wheels, look like Detroit Steels? Like the Holiday body style too. Not crazy about LS conversion.

What problems are you having? If they're related to the LS swap (and there are ALWAYS issues with such a swap, don't care what the hotrod build shows say) it needs to go back to whoever did it and let that genius deal with and correct them.

No its going stay the way it is. It runs well, has heat and a/c, and its supercharged, so there's that. Im just going to fix some issues and drive the hell out if it!

The only issue that may be related to the swap is the driveshaft or pinion yoke hits the floor on hard acceleration. That may not be the swap, may be related to the 2" drop they did i have to dig into the angles and see. The other issues are the steering box has a lot of slop in the wheel, body panel alignment is crap(doors rubbing and trim not lining up), and of course, it leaks when you wash it, particularly bad at the lift gate.

Boy I wouldn't feel bad having an LS drive train in that car at all. It obviously is way far from stock all the way around. LS is dependable horsepower. Reliable etc etc. Let's see more pictures. Pleeaassee...

I love the interior still keeping that old car look. Is that paint matte finish? Suspension and brakes upgraded too?

Yes the paint is a matte finish. The car does have a front disc conversion and looks to have new springs and shocks. The rear i need to check out. Looks like a ford 9" to me. No idea on the gear or ratio though.

Leman1-that is a really nice 58 Resto-mod. That is the trend that will stay around for a long time. With the modern upgrades you have the creature comforts, reliability, power-performance and safety. NICE find! Great ride for "Power Tour" in the future..I have a rather large family history out of Williamson West Virginia....

😳

As in Bloody Mingo and Matewan? Or a famous feud?

Williamson was named for a very distant branch of our family. It's clear other side of the state from Shepherdstown.

Used to ride by and wonder what might have been left behind in the old GMPD warehouse in Martinsburg. And got lost as hell once exploring backroads around Antietam battlefield. Glad that was before Blair Witch!

My Grandfather George Taylor was one of the owners and announcer of the first radio station in 1939
https://jeff560.tripod.com/wbth.html
Besides the radio station he opened in Williamson, GE appliance store, 2 jewelry stores ( 1 in I believe in Huntington) all with the Taylor Name on them and an apartment complex named after my mother-Virginia Apartments.
