Hello everyone today I purchased a 1973 oldsmobile ninety-eight. This is the 2nd oldsmobile I've owned the 1st was a 1981 olds cutlass. I've always been a fan of oldsmobile. This is the biggest project I've taken on to date. Body and frame are solid but interior needs some work. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and god bless.

My brother had a 1978 sedan when we were growing up it was a great ride. I can't wait to start bringing this one back to the way it should be.

www.fusick.com for what little reproduction stuff there is for your big girl. Look in their 61-75 full size section.

Mechanical and electrical parts are ez enough to find. The missing trim, not so much. Bigdooly on the forum parts out a lot of early-70s big cars. Others have factory parts books that can help you get the right part.

Your first order of business should be to get a 1973 Oldsmobile Chassis Service Manual and Fisher Body Manual. Most mechanics who worked on these cars new are long retired. The books will guide you thru about anything you need to fix, and help a modern mechanic work on it too. No plug up a computer to this beast and it tells you what ails it!🤔

I have a 76 Regency sedan and had a 73 88 convert for many years. I like these years.

Awesome thanks for the tips and link! I had an 81 olds cutlass close to 20 years ago and it has always been the 1 vehicle I regretted selling. To find a car this age in my area (Maine) that isn't full of rot is very rare and I got it for a great price because I'm not afraid of the work it'll take to get her dressed up for the ball.

Have the missing trim for around the rear window and a few other pieces inside the car too. I'll clean up the inside and snap some pictures of that too.

The busted front bumper fillers are common with 73 Delta 88. I may have them but will take me a day to look. Rears are 73 98 only but have been busting up long enough you should be able to find repops. There is some difference in quality among what's available.

Looks like that back glass has been leaking. Have a glass shop cut it out and reseal it, but hope no rust in the window channel.

If you have cloth seats you'll have to go thru a specialty business if you want to match it. But Ninety Eights could also have all vinyl seats which might be easier to fix if they're torn up any.

We had a 73 convert owner from Maine on here who was pretty sharp. Has anyone heard from Eric (MDchanic) lately?

Would definitely be interested if you do have the front bumper filler. I read through and found a few recommendations for repops on the rear ones. Yes I would say the rear glass has been leaking someone has used a bunch of silicone on it will definitely need to get a glass guy to look at it. It has the vinyl seats which are in excellent shape no rips or tears in front or rear. Door panels are kind rough, dash is cracked up and sun visors are missing. Carpet has been removed from the front so will need to finish removing that and replace it. Rear dash pad is also not there but headliner is in surprisingly good shape for the most part.. thank you for all of the advise and recommendations I'm really looking forward to peoples input as I be the ol girl back to life.

Front end sheetmetal (everything ahead of windshield) is covered in the chassis manual.
