Need Parts for a 75 Hurst Olds W-30 Frame Off
Hey Guys,
I'm new to the site and from Discovery Bay, CA - 1 hour inland from SF.
I have always been a die hard olds guy brought up with a 1971 cutlass with a 455 that I wrapped around a stop light pole at the age of 17 yrs old! luckily no one was injured! That was my first and most important lesson in life which broke my heart a the same time!
I am hoping that someone on this very helpful and knowledgeable site can help point me in the right direction so I can get my 12 year (start and stop) 1975 Hurst Olds w-30 show car project finally completed.
I have a 1975 Hurst olds w-30 which I purchased from a really good friend of mine a long time ago! I started this frame off resto back in 2002 and have had way too many starts and stops. I am now in a position to get this car completed and am having a devil of a time tracking down some rare parts.
Here is a brief description of my 75 Hurst Olds w-30
White & Gold Model
Mondello built 455 with approx 700 HP which I had lynn build to my liking with aluminum heads, polished aluminum valve covers, intake etc spent about $10k for the engine because of all the polished aluminum.
Newly rebuilt Turbo 400 w/ shift kit and gear vendor overdrive unit
Global west tubular A arms with large disc brakes in front
Dick Miller trailing and control arms, torsion bars (you name it it has it) which secures a ford 9 inch with 3:75's (never had the stock rear end)
Installed a completely new floor pan from firewall to truck floor because of the T-top leak from previous owners
Sand blasted entire undercarriage and sprayed with eastwood chasis products. Undercarriage and drive train is immaculate
You get the point I didn't cut any corners
The cars drive train is fully completed, I have actually driven it around the block a couple times but not too safe without glass, bumpers, lights etc. Everytime I fire it up gives me chills but I always run into a show stopper or something that sets me back.
Now I have a little one on the way and I'm afraid if I don;t get this car done now I probably won't be able to for a long time to come (bitter/sweet)
.
I have been searching on craigslist and ebay for either a 75 cutlass parts car but can't find anything for a reasonable price. I am so exhausted with searching for a parts car that last night I decided to put a $7,100 bid on another 75 hurst olds (great condition, running all original) but of course didn't met the seller min reserve just to get the parts I need.
I am in a really bad position because the parts I am looking for are hard to come by. These parts were lost by a friend of mine who got evicted from a warehouse that had my front and rear glass, my his/her center console (not the shifter but the console), super clean dash, plastic wheel well housings and the support hardware for the T-tops housing, the body filler between bumpers and body and some other misc stuff.
I feel like the situation I am in now would just make more sense for me to just find a reasonable parts car that hasn't been pick over too much to find most everything I need with exception of the center console for the hurst dual gate shifter.
If anyone knows of someone that has a 75 olds cutlass parts car or even a 75 hurst olds for sale or has some of these parts I would be very much appreciative of your help/advice!
Thanks so much for hearing me out and one day I hope to return the favor!!
P.S. Car is ready for paint but I want to get wheel wells in and t-top housings test fit before getting sprayed!

Welcome to the site Mike. Please post pictures of your car when you have time. We all like to see the cars being described in these threads
I'm up in Medford Oregon, just over the border from Cali. I've got some bumper fillers from a 1974, if they will fit they're yours. I've also got 2 or 3 consoles for standard gate type shifters, if you want to cut one up to fit your dual gate I could help you there. I've got one plastic wheel inner fender liner, I don't remember for sure which year its from but I know its 1973-77 vintage so I could look for a date cast into it.
There's another site you should check out. Not as many people there but they focus on your vintage of car. It's called: http://www.73-77olds.com/index.php?page=Links
If you see any parts cars in my part of the country let me know. If I can make the time for it I might be able to check it out and take pictures for you. John

Aside from what John already offered, I have a T-Top set glass & frames, also have rear glass, but as I am in Michigan the backlight would be better sourced closer. But let me know if you want to see pics, PM or post if you wish an email address to receive larger format pictures. Brett
