Need info 64 super 88

Just bought a 64 super 88 and need to find a place for body parts. IE: super 88 emblems front windshield cowl and wiper motor. The car has 19000 original miles and is very straight no rust. I would also like some info on the engine. I thought that it would have a 2 barrel carb, but to my suprise there is a 4 barrel. It looks to be all factory, based on the the condition of the engine paint. Any info would be a great help.

I had a '64 Jetstar 88 back in the early 1990s. There is no single place to find body and trim parts for these cars, and nothing is available in the aftermarket. Any of these things you're looking for will have to come from donor cars and will be a hit-or-miss affair. Unless you're lucky enough to find someone parting one of these out, and the parts he has are in good enough condition for you, you're going to end up getting emblems here, a cowl there, and a wiper motor someplace else. Ask around on forums like this, search the internet, call nearby junkyards, etc.

I needed a wiper motor for my '64, and I found out that the motor from a '64 Cadillac is identical. It's likely other GM makes that year used the same motor.

About the windshield, it's entirely possible that you can still get a new one from one of the auto glass companies that you would think if you needed to replace glass on a late-model car.

I just now did a search at windshieldstogo.com

http://www.windshieldstogo.com/?form...1ef888c487beda

and they do show availability of windshields for '64 Super 88 four-door hardtops and sedans (you don't say which you have), but there is a significant price difference. It's about $400 for a windshield for the hardtop and $200 for the sedan. That's a bit steep for the hardtop, but you would want to check other site such as Safelite and whatever else you can find.

Post pics of your car.

The standard engine was a 394 cu in 4 barrel rated at 330 HP. Premium fuel only. A 345 HP version that was standard on the Starfire was an option. The lettering that said Super 88 at the front of the fenders was in small block letters. 1964 was the last year for the Super 88. A truly beautiful car. Please post pictures when you get a chance.

I will post pictures when I get the car home. I got it at a state auction for $900.00, and have to wait till next week to pick it up.

I have been searching the web for parts for this car, but no luck. Hopefully I can find parts here on the forum.

The scripts will be either NOS or good used and they are 1964 only.

The cowl grille and wiper stuff can come from a 63-64 Super 88, Starfire or Ninety Eight. Possibly from same bodystyle Pontiac or Buick. Car will have to be equipped with overlap wipers. Chevrolets, some lower-line Pontiacs, and Dynamic 88s/Jetstar I have tandem wipers which are different.

All 1964 S88 were four-doors, either a sedan or a hardtop, and were generally very nicely trimmed automobiles. The Super was Olds' mid-level full-size car. It became a Delta 88 in 1965.
