Need help tracking coolent leak?

So I found out I had a exhaust manifold leak on my 394. I replaced the gaskets and it sounds way better now but now looks like I have a coolent leak under the intake manifold, I can see a puddle under there and leaks tru the back. Anybody know what this might be?

The obvious places to check would be the upper radiator hose connection to the thermostat housing and the thermostat housing to intake manifold connection.

If you haven't already found your leak, you may want to look at the bypass hose that runs from the water pump to the thermostat housing.

Also check your heater hoses.

A 394 is the first generation engine and does not have the bypass hose.

You can go to O'Reilly and borrow a leak tester. It has a pump to put on your radiator in place of the cap. Pump it up and pressurize the system and you may see where the water is coming from. I did this on a 94 Corvette I had and it worked great.

You are correct. My mind just skipped right over 394 and he stated it looked like it's coming from the baCK

There is an inlet on the rear of the right cylinder head and runs to the heater control valve. It connects to the head with two bolts which means it has a gasket under it. A leak there would probably leak down onto the valley cover.
