Need help with a 455 rebuild

Need a good engine machine shop in southeast michigan? Im moving to Michigan at the end of june and just drove my car there this past weekend for storage and on the way developed a rod knock. I want to stroke it and was wondering if the eagle rotating assembly is any good? I have a 70 455 with a set of c code heads (big valve) that also need to be rebuilt. Looking ro have a great street rod. May take to the track just to see what it can do in the quarter mile. I want to do the assembly my self but would like a shop to machining and install oil restrictors and any other mods that may help with reliability. Would like 450 HP and over 500 ft lbs of tourque when done. This will be my first olds engine so any advice would be great. Also is it possible to complete this all for under 4000.00 ?

You'll have over $2,000 just in the stroker crank, rods and pistons.

SE Michigan is a pretty big area, can you narrow it down a bit.

Be prepared for sticker shock, but they may be able to direct you to other quality shops iin the area. Check references of any one youre thinking of using, lots of hacks in the area.

Sorry but 4000 won't get it done .Machine shop costs to redo a set of e heads and all the block work was nearly 3000 on my build.I was very conservative purchasing all the parts i needed and put the motor together myself. When all was said and done im in it for a little over 6000.After driving it a little over 1000 miles ive got it all apart correcting issues.X2 on finding a good shop that has done lots of work on olds engines.Be sure all tolerances and specs are checked and rechecked (this is key to having a motor last)your goal of 450hp is easily achievable with the 455 but it has to be built right to last .good luck with your build.
