Need a bra/front end mask

I am almost done rebuilding my high school car (72 Cutlass Supreme). I'd like to find a bra/front end mask for him but haven't been able to find one. Anyone have any ideas???

Shop and be very cautious, I ruined two front end paint jobs with the Bra's. Any movement by wind and they do a number on the front end paint. Andy

There was a custom made one on craigslist about a week ago for 75 bucks but I can't find it now, probably sold.
You used to be able to get them from places LeBra and Colgan but they're discontinued. You could try calling those type outfits and see if they can do something, probably still have the patterns on file.

The only way otherwise is go to a car upholstery trim shop and have one custom made.
I have a GTO and I saw pics of one done by a trim shop in California that was really nice.

Not sure if they do any mail order, probably have to take the car in and have it fitted too.
Any good trim shop should be able to do one though.
Custom made boat cover places can do things like that too.
I would guess a couple of hundred bucks at least.

I've heard those can damage paint. Make sure it fits snugly.

I am going to try the 3M paint protection film on my 70 Cutlass.

I got a kit on ebay for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm in NE, I'll check in Omaha to see if there's an upholstery shop that would make one. Any suggestions besides fitting snug??? Or any alternatives? I want to drive him and enjoy him, but at the same time I don't want to chip/ruin the paint. The 3M paint protection sounds interesting. Let me know how it works out!

Thanks!
Kaye

Did you try the lingerie department at Sears?

Well, I gave it the ol' college try today and I was not successful. I am sure a professional installer would have no problem applying the film. But the complex angles of the nose of the hood kicked my butt. I think the product would work great based on the material I did have applied, but I was not able to form, stretch and modify the film to fit nicely. If the hood was flat all the way across or even slightly rounded it would have been a quick install.

Ah well, win some and you lose some.

Well in my own humble opinion I do not think that men should wear bras unless they are taking the estrogen pills and planning on the surgery. your cutlass still got ***** don't he

I checked out the site and they do state that having it professionally installed is recommended. usually when they tell you something like that they mean it is hard to work with. The bra will help with stone chipping but I find that folks get lazy and keep it on all the time. tight fitting is not needed if you remove it to wash the car wax the car and store the car.
