My first Olds

My first Olds
Jim from North of Seattle. Had a beautiful 48 Ply. coupe until I spotted a 66 Cutlass on the show room floor at a custom car lot. Long story short. I traded the coupe for my first Olds and my first drop top car. I joined the forum because of all the great info and ideas that I got from a similar forum for Plymouths. I'm sure this forum will perform just as good or better, Car people are the Greatest. My Cutlass has the 330 engine with the 2 speed tranny, love the way it drives, plenty of power and a nice smooth ride. I was suprised at all the attention this car gets when I'm out and about, all those thumbs up make a guy feel pretty good. Looking forward to meeting Oldsmobile enthuisests on the forum and many Happy Miles with my first Olds.

Welcome, my first car...and Olds was a '66 Cutlass, and yes, you will get Chevy comments!? I had a young twenty something couple stop in front of my '71 Supreme at a car show in Oct. and say "A Chevy Cutlass" Oy vey.

welcome neighbor!
I just joined myself. I bought my '65 cutlass out of Puyallup - where are you North of Seattle? We should go to the Buzz Inn in Marysville for a steak and some car talk. The '66 holiday coupe I had was the nicest classic car I ever had.

Thanks for all the nice welcoms. Glad to see that there are several Olds owners in my part of the NW. Have my car down right now waiting on a Carb from Sean Murphy Racing. The Qjet was not working properly and was a remanufactored pile of junk. I ordered the correct carb in a stage one with an electric choke and a part throttle adjustment that can be tuned while the engine is running. I will post the results when I get things going again. See you on the road. JIM

Welcome, this IS a great site! I had 65 442 back in the day and a buddy had a 66. I am now finishing up a 67 442. Can't wait to see pics of your 66...one of my favorites too. Good luck with it.
