Smile My 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham

was my dads car when he was 19, had to choose to keep this and his 1967 mustang fastback, picked this because it had more seats, because he was expecting a family, (in his opinion bad mistake) on from a finacial standpoint today it is, haha. I grew up to this car in pieces, it sat in the garage just waiting to be brought back to life. it sat for 15 years at an old house, half the time being outside, an offer was made to my dad that someone would buy the car for 3 grand, and it was in bad shape, from what my dad tells me, i saw them talking and i ran outside and told him he couldnt sell it because he had promised the car to me. my father said sorry man, no deal, and the car was never sold. we moved about 20 miles away from our old house in 2001, and the car sat up until i turned 16, when me and my dad started to breathe a little life into this old olds. there is not a part of this car i havent had my hands on. from restoring the engine, to the interior, to all the bodywork and paint, theres not a second i havent been there for this thing. It may not be perfect, but its something i love more than almost anything else in the world. Anyways, enough with the mooshy, its got a 76 455 out of a delta 88, turbo 400 trans, b+m slapshift, 3:73 gear, posi, 442 front clip with grills i got about a week ago, it was hard to find those badboys, haha. andretti exhaust (lol), dark garnet red paint off a 1991 chevy astro van, paint code R74? something like that. maroon interior, and im thinking picking up the factory optioned 442 split ram air hood. i like this car because theres close to none of them around me, and its probably one of the most overlooked muscle cars of its day. its come a long way. no its not bone stock, but its different, yet tactful, and different goes a long way.

btw, im the coolest 19 year old with a bad *** cutlass. haha.

Nice car...you could say I'm partial to the 76's. Welcome to the forum. FYI, There wasn't any ram air hood as an option for the 442 in 76. There's only aftermarket.

I like.

You're closer to a factory color than you think. GM code 74 has been used on Oldsmobiles as Grenadier Red since at least 1970 and later as Cranberry or Dark Autumn Maple.

AWSOME!

I like that red color. It reminds me of the 1978 Delta 88 my dad (Oldsguy) had when I was a kid.

the color was called mahogany in '76. and if yer still rockin' the original fabric pattern that's called lamancha. the brougham is the only series in '76 offered in 2-door only.
