Hi everyone,
I'm Patrick, from France. I bought a beautyful 66 cutlass convertible 2 weeks ago. I'm very happy to join the Classic Oldsmobile community.

It needs care and restoration, but this car is in a good condition.

Take care and safe to everyone during this special period of COVID 19.
I've got a lot of questions, I hope I'll find out all the answers in this place.

Patrick.

Hi everyone,
many thanks for your welcome !

I'll try to answer some of you :
330 CI with auto 2 speed
color seems to be burgundy.
The former owner bought the car in 2014, imported from US though a french retailer. No complet history.
Work has been done since 2014 :
- alternator, battery, tires, fuel pump, water pump, brand new exhaust line, top engine refresh (hydraulic tappet, valve head clearance,..), sparkplugs and wire, ignition distributor, all filters + engine and transmission draining, rear and front brakes, engine starter. Brake assitance unit added.

My project : restaure properly close to the original version. S
eats and interior are in very good condition.
The chassis need care but still strong.
The paint for sure need also to be refresh.
The brand new exhaust line hits the rear axel when the car shocks on a hole, improper installation done by the garage

What I've already done: fix the fuel gauge (wires cutted + oxidation) + repair the sway bar of the trunk (broken)

Next step: fix a water hose leak (discover yesterday after a short ride) + fix the power steering unit, It doesn't work today (I knew this point )

I think I'll get some questions about how to repair this very georgous car.
Take care and stay safe.

Pat.

Hi exotec,
do you know where I could find water hoses supplier in europe. Cause to COVID19, I don't know if I can order in US and the most important thing : to receive the parts.

Sorry Pat not really. Hoses I always first look at local Auto parts trade-stores.

Rockauto is still running deliveries to Europe, just received some parts yesterday with Fedex. It may take longer now as usual.

regards, Karl

Hi CARID.
I've got a question : do you continue to ship parts to FRANCE during the COVID19 ?
I'm quiet ready to place an order.
Thanks for your reply.

Welcome from Germany, first of all.
You could start by consulting an Opel dealer, since they are General Motors' representatives in Europe. The chances of obtaining an original hose is unlikely. But, not impossible. Asking doesen't hurt. If the hose doesen't need to look original, there are universal types available

Homeowner, you should start your own thread in parts wanted and not hijack Pat 45's thread.

Patrick you've got a sharp ride, even at this stage. I want to see some pics you take on a sunny day ride, with the top down! Enjoy your new toy, and keep us in the loop as you progress.

I hope everyone can stay COVID-19 free!

Hi Back In The Game,

thanks for your welcome.
As soon as I've got some pictures within a sunny day, I'll share them.
But I don't know when...
Here in FRANCE it's the total lockdown. By chance, I continue to work in my facility in order to provide Bathroom Tissus, Hankies and medical masks for everybody basic needs
I work in a famous consumer goods tissus compagny.

Take care and stay safe with COVID19.
