lifters

Hi, this is my first post. Anyone out there know the pre-load on a 66 442 .921 hydraulic lifter. A reputable local high performance shop says the 66 olds 442 pre-load is .090 t0 .150, any comments. thanks in advance

Welcome to CO. We have quite a few members that are able to give you a good answer and I hope you hear from one or more of them soon. If by chance you don't it just means they haven't been cruising this sub-forum so just go on over to the engine forums and post your question there. It will become quite evident by the number of posts and content who they are so you might even shoot one of them a PM.

is your set up adjustable rockers or is it the O.E. style? that .090-.150 seems a bit much.

on my '67 400 with .921 lifters and adjustable rockers they are .030

Probably have your answer by now but Lunati and Crane both recommend between .020 and .060 preload.
