Hi,
My name is Larry and I live in Medford, Oregon. I am currently in the process of restoring a 1966 442 that I have owned for about 13 years. I started the restoration project about 2 years ago after letting the car sit for 10 years. This is the first car I have taken completely apart (body off frame, etc.) and hope I remember where everything goes putting it back together. Hopefully, the body will be ready to come home sometime this month. I have blasted and painted all the chassis parts and it is now a rolling chassis, waiting to have the body set back on.
I am excited to be on this site and was told about it by John or 2blu442. Met him yesterday. Thanks John.

Welcome aboard.
I'm a couple hundred miles south of Medford in Nor Cal but travel that way two or three times a year( love Oregon). If you do shows and get your car together by next summer you gotta do the Grant's Pass show , one of the best on the west coast, we should be there, stop by and say hi....Lost in the fifties hope to see you there also......Tedd

Welcome Aboard Larry!
Gee I was going to tell you about John when I read you were from Medford. Then I saw he was the one who referred you. You're lucky to have a guy like that living close by. Have you been to his 'boneyard'?
Should have warned you 2 years ago - take lots of pics of the teardown. Then you'll have a reference to where it goes back together.
Do you have a copy of the 66 Chassis Service Manual (CSM) and Assembly Manual (AM)? They are worth their weight in gold. Original manuals are more desirable because they have clearer pics than the reproduced or scanned electronic versions.

Thanks for all the welcoming messages
Hi and thanks for all the welcoming messages. I hope to post some pictures as soon as I can figure out how and I can get my wife off the computer. Ha. The 66 442 body is in the process of being painted its original colors, Lucerne Blue with a White painted top. I don't know if the painted white top is unusual or not but that's what the data plate indicates. I am setting the original 400 and 4 speed aside and have a 1970 455 that has been warmed up a bit sitting on an engine stand in my garage waiting to go back in. I also will be using a Muncie from a late 60's Corvette that I bought years ago in order to "protect" the original 4 speed. The car had original 3.90 gears with no posi so I will be updating the rear end soon. The original is under the car now so I can have a rolling chassis when I go to pick up the body which hopefully will be sometime this month. Thats about it for now. Thanks again for the welcome.

Great to see another Oregonian here! I grew up in North Bend, out on the coast, but now live in WA. Your '66 is my favorite year of all the 4-4-2s. Something about those solid red taillights that really grab my eye. It will be great to see pictures when you figure it out - it took me awhile to post my pictures as well. Do you have history on your car - is it a local car by any chance?
Kudos to John as well for letting you know about this site. I believe this is the best site by far for passing and obtaining Olds info. John has helped me out as well. There is another site - www.wildaboutcars.com - where you might find manuals and publications for your car, free to download. It took me awhile to figure out how to navigate on wildaboutcars but it comes with time!
Welcome aboard!
