Would love to talk you out of that pretty little puppy!!! I just like the style of the F85 of that vintage. Might be a problem for me to "put on" to drive!!!!

Hellow, I just joined the site too. I have a 1960 F-85. I think that the body is too far gone to drstore the car. It runs and drives great but lots of cancer. Not sure what to do with it now. Is anyone intrested in one. It is a four door, but all strieght and complete.

I Paid 1200 for mine, mostly because of the engine. I see one just like yours in Seattle all the time. same color with a red interior and baby moons ... four speed.. I'd love to drive that one.

Not possible. The F-85 was not introduced until the 1961 model year! Good thing you jointed the site. Look at what you've already learned!

The October 2011 issue of the Old Cars Price Guide lists the average value of a '61 F-85 2-door in #3 condition ("car show" quality but not showroom quality) at just under $5,000. In #4 condition (runs and drives but needs total restoration), the value is $2,200.

Your car looks to be well better than #4 and perhaps very close to #3.

That's a nice little car. Good luck with it. Don't cry, but I just scrapped 3 complete 215 engines for the aluminum. They were in my attic for years.

Very nice and you really don't see many of these around. I wondered how long it would take for somebody to bring up the fact there were no 60 F85's. I guess some were made in 1960 but they were 61 models.

I wondered why it took so long for someone to point it out!

No guesswork about it. The auto industry has operated this way since the beginning of time. 1961 model year production would have begun around the beginning of August 1960 or somewhere in there so that the new models would have been available in dealer showrooms in late September or early October for whatever date was set for the new model unveilings.

No, the real surprise is how "Kurt" could have gone for more than about 5 minutes thinking his car is a 1960 model. The moment he did any research on it or tried to buy a part for it, he would have discovered his error.

Actually, the real real surprise is how he could not have known when he bought it what year it is. Didn't he look at the title or the registration?

A possible explanation is simply a typo, and he typed a "0" when he meant to type a "1". However, when you note that these two keys are at the opposite ends of the keyboard, even this explanation isn't very plausible!
