Julian date

Question for you olds experts - Does the Julian date on the back of the 70 442 engine blocks (number by distributor) always match up to the cowl tag? If not how many days usuallt seperate the numbers.

Assuming match blocks the car and hasn't been restamped.

I've seen it where blocks have been restamped and Julian date is off. Is this really ow to tell if engine has been restamped?

Seems as if even fake build sheets are possible, now changing blocks??

thanks for feedback
