I'm Dallas

Hi everyone,

My name is Dallas & I'm from Mount Washington, KY. It's a little town south of Louisville, KY.

I'm 60 years young and an avid lover of high performance cars from the '60s & '70s. Growing up, my dad owned two Oldsmobiles.... '55 Super 88 and a '64 Jetstar I.

Currently, I do not own an Olds; but, I am surfing the internet to find a '64 Jetstar I...... Aqua Blue with a white interior. As I venture down this path of owning a Jetstar I, I will be full of questions. And, I know you all help me

I'm really pumped up to find this site. I found the Oldsmobile Club of America (OCA) and a local club chapter here in Mt. Washington, Ky.

Welcome and good luck finding your dream car! Was the '64 Jetstar the first car you drove?

I found my car in Lexington. After flying to Connecticut and Florida, just to be disappointed with the cars I went to look at, I made a road trip with my two boys and my dad to Kentucky. We went to Slugger Museum, Patton Tank Museum, Mammoth Cave and an airport museum in Lexington before spending my last dime to buy my 98.

Don't be surprised if you find yourself interested in buying more than just one Oldsmobile...it is just Olds Fever!

That's right. I learned to drive getting behind the wheel of Dad's Jetstar. And now, as a tribute to Dad, I want to find one.

I guess you know that the Jetstar 88 was different--330 engine, smaller brakes and differential, etc. The Jetstar I had the Starfire drivetrain in a "plain clothes" package.

You're right. It was a poor man's Starfire. But I actually liked the Jetstar I better. It had less chrome.

Thnx to all of you for the warm greetings. I am full of questions about the '64 Olds Jetstar I that I am wanting to buy. AND, since it has been 35 yrs since I've turned a wrench on a car..... I may sound foolish at times

However, I intend to make good use of the "Search" link and get boned-up on as many things as possible

Later y'all

Here's a nice '64 Jetstar I that was for sale at the Charlotte Auto Fair last April. He was asking $13,250 for it, but he kept marking down the price. I don't know if he ultimately sold it. The phone number is 865-748-3414.

You don't see these very often. Good luck in finding one.
