Hi new to the form I have had lots of olds in the past

I'm really confused on 1972 Cutlass am looking at a 72 that was built in April of 72 the Block code is correct for the year but it has number six heads and a 2 barrel carburetor it's also painted in blue is this a possibility for 1972 it is also a factory air and Factory power brakes car however the floor is Rusted and it needs a windshield and rear windshield and has no title is it still worth $500

Welcome to the site. The problem in buying a basket case is, what will the car be worth when its done vs the amount of money invested. If its for sale for $500 then do the math on the amount of parts it has that could be resold.

Thank you for the reply I kind of had that figured in the more curious if that motor combination with a 70 headby head on a 72 car without it being rebuilt

Welcome to the group... The blue engine color would not be factory unless it was a 455, which you have already confirmed is not the case... The 2 barrel carb could be factory for a small block in 72... As for the heads, 72 would be 7a, they could have been changed...

Welcome to the site.

The car you are describing is a parts car.
Be advised. You can sink a lot of money into an old car and it still not be worth anything.

Can you post a few pictures of the car?

If it is a bucket seat console car, those parts alone are worth the $500.
You may check the rear end code, most likely not a posi, but you never know
unless you check. Some of the fellows here search out these type of parts cars
to help carry on the hobby. Where is it and would it be feasible to part it out?

Unfortunately it is not a console bucket seat car but it does have Factory air affect the power brakes and I have not looked underneath it for the rear end code but the body is pretty straight and I can post some pictures to see if anybody might be interested so look for further again still looking for hey not too expensive to start running Cutlass does not have to be a specialty can always make it a quote-unquote tribute car as compared to a clone that used to call them

What "block code" are you looking at? Olds used the same casting number on the 350 block from 1968 to 1976. Only the VIN derivative stamp on the block will tell you the exact model year of the block. It was not unusual for heads to be swapped when a valve job was needed. A lot can happen to a car in half a century.

Any car without a title is suspect (unless you are in a state that doesn't issue titles on older cars). Just about every state in the nation has a process for the legitimate owner to obtain a replacement title for only a few dollars. It the seller is unwilling to do this, well, that sound you hear is the BS alarm going off.

I think you're missing these:
,,.,.,,.,,.,.,.,,,..,.,.,?,.,.,,,,.,.,......,,.,., ,,,.,,.,,,.,.,,?,,.,?,,.,,,.,.,.,,.,.,.,,..,...... ,.,,.,....,.,,,.,,...,.,.,,..

I found a few for you. No charge.

As noted, the car you describe sounds like a parts car at best, and scrap at worst.
Keep your eyes open, watch CraigsList and the local papers, place a want ad on this forum, and something will turn up.

Welcome to ClassicOlds.
