Hi everybody, new guy here

Hey everyone, I am a young man who has finally acquired my "dream" car. I finally acquired a clean title Oldsmobile Rocket 350 Cutlass S coupe. I am new to the forums, and will be trying to get this car into good enough condition to drive on my wedding day (5 mo from now). It does need some work, I will not sugarcoat it. Definitely worth it, and the engine runs well. I will save the actual list of needs and issues for a regular thread post, but wanted to express my enthusiasm and desire to bring this car back to a better place, my place.

Let me know what you think.. (see pics below)

Welcome to the site, congrats on your future nuptials. You have a very ambitious schedule depending on your expectations.

Wow! You're ambitious. I think it's going to cost you more than the wedding to get that ready in time for the big day. No way your bride could sit in that with a white dress and feel fresh afterwards the way it is now. Best of luck.

Are you doing the work yourself or farming it out? Big difference in costs and timelines.

Welcome to CO.
That is for sure a project.
How are the floors and trunk?
The pic's look blue but interior is green, must be a repaint at some point.
For me I don't like vinyl roofs. I would strip that off and either two tone paint or paint same color as car car. Clean up interior and get all the mechanical up to par and all fluids changed.
For sure on metal work and a hood.
Good luck, start a build thread and keep us up to date.

Hi and welcome
I must agree with the other guys. That's a really ambitious project for 5 months. With regards to costs I have spent the equivalent of around 20 grand and that's without any body work on my 68S. It does look a good base to start. Are you going stock or something a bit more interesting. Do lose the vinyl roof, it's not a good look. Good luck - nothing like a bit of hard work and a bundle of cash!!
