Hi from Canada

Hi everyone,

Newbie here. I came across this site by surfing and I like what I see! I currently own a 1956 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight 4 dr sedan. The car was restored by the previous owner a while ago.
I used to own in the past : 1 1955 Olds Super 88, 2 1956 Oldses (one Super 88 and one Ninety eight). So this is my fourth Olds. My last ride was a 1956 Cadillac Sedan Deville. I had it for ten years. Had a ball with it, but I was missing the thrill of owning an Olds. So I sold the Cad and got this Ninety Eight two weeks ago.
I will be looking forward to participating in this forum, exchanging ideas, stories, etc. with you all.

Cheers,
Al

Yeah, I've been trying to. But I think I may have some problems with my computer. When I post, nothing happens...

I'll see other options.

Thanks! Looking to move around the Okanagan area if the cards go well. But, it is possible that I may move in the Fraser valley. Where the trucking job is, I'll be there.

Welcome to the site, Als1956rocket!
That's a cool looking car you have there. I bet it gets a lot of attention out on the roads. Best of luck with it.

Thanks! What you see is an exhaust deflector. The car will be fitted with a hitch soon to tow the vintage trailer. It weighs only 1500lbs, so it won't be a problem at all. This is the trailer, a 1968 Serro Scotty Hilander.

Cool trailer..I got the hots to get a teardrop trailer to put behind my 55 and the wife was all for it, till I said we could save a few bucks on hotel bills when we show it out of the area. She said no way would she stay in it over night! Something about no potty or something like that... Oh well it was a good thought anyway. It sure would have been cute behind the 55. Yours looks a little more ah.. convenient and prictical..Tedd

Mine has a porta-potty in it. It's tucked nicely in the closet, which serves as a bathroom. My wife is all for it! If it didn't have one, she'd not want to stay in it overnight....

Welcome aboard! Sounds like your interest is mainly the mid 50's cars. They had some real style back then, and really heavy metal.

Seems like a few of us have similar destinations. I'm looking at Abbottsford or Mission myself. Actually the Mrs. is making that decision. Anywhere in Bring Cash country that doesn't see much snow or cold. The Island is out of the question for my needs though.

Thanks! Yeah, I am rather hooked on mid-50s cars. They're "unsafe" by today's standards (mine has lap seat belts,at least!), handle sloppily in curves and braking, but I love 'em!!

My wife and I are looking very much forward to moving out where the snow is light, and dry, in the south Okanagan...now if my house can only sell...the real-estate market is horrible here, these days..
