Hi all, just bought my hot wag

1987 olds custom cruiser
41,000 miles on the 307. Interior is perfect and paint is faded.
A/C converted to new type of freon (cold)

I'm here to find some info/diagrams/etc on my engine.
Starts up fine now when it's hot outside, we'll see how the choke works this winter. It does stall when I put it into gear, not sure what's up with that. Fuel filter? Trans solenoid?

All in all I'm happy with my purchase, my 3 year old loves riding in the back.
Look forward to learning about it.

Welcome, first-poster
nice choice
AC is good
The stalling should be an easy fix. Carbureted, of course, right?
Perhaps idle kicker solenoid which is supposed to bump up the idle when AC is on, is not present or working?

Thanks for the response. I did have to adjust the stop idle solenoid to get a good idle when the a/c is on. I also bumped up the base idle in hopes it would help it when the load is put on the engine. It doesn't stall every time I put it in gear, or at every stop light, so I hope it's not the transmission's torque converter clutch. Hopefully it's just the fuel filter.

Easy. Buy one of these. You'll find them on Ebay. Be sure to get the one that says "Custom Cruiser" on the bottom like this one. The manuals for the FWD cars look very similar.

That would probably be a good start.
