just got started on here i have had many 442's over the years, have not had one in a long time but i finally got a car ive chased for years and this seemed like the perfect place to get started. i just picked up my first 66 442 tri power car, car is still wearing its original white paint but has not seen the road since 1982 (last time it was tagged), its in need of a total going over, but its complete and very nice ill post some pictures thanks rod
Welcome to the site Rod! I'm down at the South end of the state, Medford. Nice project car that will be well worth the sweat and time it takes to restore. It sounds like you've known about this car for a while, tell us the story. There's another member here East of Portland with a 1966 442 convertible he's restoring. Are you connected with the Olds crowd in the greater Portland area? John
well a good pal of mine has owned it since 1990 and from the first time i saw it i tried to buy it. finally he was buying a bussiness and needed to sell it, so i became a owner. im getting a title search done on it now to track it back, i do know at one time the car was at the house of hardtops here in portland ( plate frames are still on it). the only thing that appears to have been changed is the heads, its got a set of c heads on it but the b heads were in the trunk. the tri power is totally complete down to the carb tags, car has 390 gears, im debating on doing a frame off or restore the engine bay and interior and leave the paint as is. ill put pictures up as i go.
Very cool- I remember House of Hardtops!
Let me know what you find regarding which dealership the car originated from. I have a huge archive of Portland auto sales ads from the 60's. You never know, I may have an ad for your car.
Supercars Unlimited, a tremendous resource for Olds enthusiasts, is located in Beaverton. Greg Rollin (the owner) is super cool to deal with.
Keep in touch.

Welcome to CO. It's obvious you know a bit about Oldsmobile already from your description of the car and engine, hope we can help you out in the future to get that car on the road and looking good.
