1969 442

Glad to see so many cool Olds here. I have a 1969 #s match 442 with a TH350 three speed trans. Great car!

Update 2019: Well, I finally sold the car today and already miss it. Strange that the new owner just had an issue getting the car into Park - which was exactly what I happened to me back in 2012 (which I forgot about until I googled the problem and found my old forum asking about this same issue) My memory is long gone, and I am trying to figure out how I fixed it back then because I can't remember.

I vaguely remember taking off the shifter **** and removing the console, then adjusting some linkage that was in that area (bottom of floor shifter)? I just can't remember what I adjusted. I know it was easy because I do recall it taking 15-20 mins to do it.

Does anyone know what I would have adjusted in that area below the floor shifter?

I'm trying to help the new owner figure it out.

Your trans should be a turbo 400 if original.

My guess would be the shift cable came loose on the transmission shift lever arm. It's adjustable by about an inch front to back.

Greetings to the owner of the beautiful red car from sunny Georgia! I'd sure like to be down your way right now. It's too cold up here! Welcome to the site. This is a great place to learn and to ask questions - lots of technical experts here who can answer your questions in detail!
