Smile Help me save her!

I was at this site a few years ago and liked what I saw. I have had this 69 Cutlass for about 11 years. It's not as pretty as the photo, but neither am I. I have rust where the vinyl top meets the body, on both front fenders behind the wheel and lower panel behind the rear wheel. I am going to try to do most of it myself, but could use some help and guidance. I want to make sure i do it right. The best places to buy stuff and the correct parts to replace.

Thank you in advance for any and all help. I live right on the ocean in Central California and the salt air is not a classic car lover.

Dean

Welcome to CO. Nice looking ride but the pic is a little small. Either way, still a nice car!

You're definitley in the right place! A wealth of informative and great people here!

That line between the vinyl top and the body gets a lot of rust. Heck, vinyl tops in general cause a lot of rust. Good luck in your repair efforts. I see you haven't been around for over a year and I missed your initial introduction post back in '08 so here is an official welcome to CO! Did you ever do any work on the body after your questions back then? I would just comment that I think the Cutlass S model looks really good on it's own merits. Black on black is a good color combo too, looks real slick. Anyway, welcome back.

Talking Welcome back to CO

Nice looking car. Look in the major builds and & Projects forum. The rust issues you are talking about have been discussed many times before. Also check out the Body and paint forum.

Keep us posted on your progress. Others will chime in with suggestions. Good luck
