I am cleaning out my Papas Dyno Don Nicholsons shop and ran across these can someone help id them? Where they made just for him? How much might they be worth? Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Candace
I can say from the appearance of the attaching bolt pattern they appear to fit the 10-bolt 1965 [and '64 330] thru 1990 V8's... a popular engine family.

Look again...there are only 4 bolt holes on the bottom, not 5.
You will notice the Oldsmobile valve covers. Like most Street Rodders, we do thing just get a conversion started. These are cast in Magnesium. These are in deed a GM part. They were made when Warren Johnson, was running a Olds Cutlass in NHRA Pro Stock class. The motors that he ran were called corporate motors. Early 80's there were 500 CID looked like a Olds motor on the out side, but with all BBC rotating assembles in side.
I was wondering about the non-Oldsmobile bolt pattern on the ones in the pictures above.
Eric these would be way cool on your car. Just think of the provenance of these. They were owned by Dyno Don Nicholson. Then I could see them next April at the zone show.
Thanks for all your comments and help! Can anyone guess what these might be worth?
With or without the connection to your grandfather?
Finding a guy with a chevy engine who wants an Olds logo on it might be tricky.
Finding an Olds guy who wants to put a chevy engine in his car won't be any easier.
But being cast out of magnesium AND the pro stock Warren Johnson connection is awesome. I'd say $250 to start.
With the connection to Don...$500?
Just spit balling here.
Thanks for sharing!!!

These don't fit a BBC, only a DRCE (and probably only first-gen at that). Here are the BBC gaskets:
We just sold the Mag DRCE and the iron DRCE sorry! Wish I had seen this earlier. I am posting some stuff slowly as I wade my way through the shop on ebay. Here is the ebay name: steeledadealz and there is a local craigslist add here http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/pts/5277465301.html
These rocker covers were made in the early 80's to fit the new cylinder heads built by Oldsmobile especially for their Drag racing engines beginning in 1984.
If you watch this 1984 NHRA Gatornationals youtube video:
starting from the 50 minutes and 30 seconds mark you will see a story on the new Oldsmobile drag racing engine with this rocker cover fitted. These rocker covers will only fit the drag racing alluminum heads on these cars.
AMD, if you'd like to sell 2 I am interersted in buying a pair for my workshop as decoration.

I have the ONLY set of these covers that was on the Cars & Concepts display engine used @ the NHRA National Event races to promote the new DRCE engines. These covers were authenticated by WJ to be the only set made.
