Hello From TX
Been looking around here for a while now seeing what's up in the Olds world. Had a '74 Hurst W-30 back in the early 80's and I'm looking for another now.
The one I had got t-boned and was totaled bu the ins Co. I let it go for i thing around $1200 at the time. If i only new at the time what I had. So I know for sure that there is one less W-30 out there for me to buy.
So if anyone has any leads on a 73-75 Hurst W-30 I would appreciate it.
Lots of great info here and looking foreward on learning lots more.
Thanks,
Ron

Not that I'm trying to drive you away from this site as it is a very good site, but there is another one that caters more specifically to the era of car you're looking for. You might check them out, too. I visit there from time time. Seems like good people.

If you're already aware of this site, I apologize for the redundancy.

With only 380 1974 W30 produced, and a whole lot of them having met their fate same as yours did, you may have to settle for a Y77 appearance package car. Those had 350s, either single or dual exhaust, and the stuff that came standard with the W30 car had to be ordered at extra cost on the AP car. There were only 1420 of those built, but more common than the W30.
What you have to look out for with either is incorrect restoration thru the years. I passed on several because they were rougher than I wanted to deal with or had been restored incorrectly and I'd have had to do it all over again. Finally got an unmolested original Y77 in 1996.
73-77 is a good site and a lot of 73-75 Hurst knowledge there. jwsolds in FL has one of the most comprehensive 74 Hurst info banks I know of. I think he currently owns two.
Someone here found a rusty one in an Ohio junkyard a while back and managed to save some of the good stuff.
