Hello from southern Indiana

I've owned a '77 Omega since 2009, my first car and my daily driver.

Recently been having some issues that I wanted to ask some olds experts about, so I figured I'd join your lovely forum!

The body's a bit worse for wear, but it's the engine that I'll be posting about to start with.

Thanks, I posted my first question over in the small-block engines forum, since I have to replace the entire engine (bad rod bearing)

I'm not familiar with the 231 6's. Have you surfed your local Craigslist?
If you can find a 350-350 combo it might drop right in. Drive Shaft length
may be a hickey, but I think the 200 and the 350 maybe the same length possibly.
I know the output shafts share the same spline as far as the yoke is concerned.
I also think that the transmissions are the same length as well.
Hopefully those more in the know will chime in.

Yeah, looked all over Craigslist already, not found much. Though that's where I got the car itself for $500 back in '09. Had to replace the trunk lid and one of the tail lights due to an accident on the part of the previous owner, but otherwise the car was in perfect running order when I got it.

Welcome to the site. Ask around and see who builds a decent replacement engine in your area. Jasper is a decent source.
