Hello oldies

Hello hello,

I'm a 24 year old college student looking to fix up his '86 cutlass salon. I've got basic mechanic knowledge and already purchased a factory service manual off Amazon. Just finished going through and flushing/replacing the fluids and filters for the most part.

Up next is restoring the interior and a nice paint job. She's had the majority of the engine rebuilt or replaced. Just a few problems that I'm hoping you guys on here could help me through.

Think that's it. Nice to meet you!
-Daniel

Hallo Daniel- keep in mind you may need more than one service manual for these year cars. I know there are separate manuals for chassis and electrical troubleshooting.

What kind of budget are you working with? SMS Auto Fabrics is a topnotch source for interior fabric but can be expensive. Sometimes you'll find a trim shop that has the right material in stock. Also keep in mind that a lot of interior trim bits are common to all the 80s G-body cars and the GN/GNX and Monte Carlo are supported pretty good.

Welcome to the site! The manual you ordered should have the wiring diags in it if is is the factory type. There is a separate body manual, but you may do well without it.
Post some pics and update us on your progress. oldsgmail.com is also a good source of info for this body style.
