Hello From NJ
Hello From NJ
Hi Everyone! New guy here from Central New Jersey. I have had a 1972 Olds 442 Convertible since 1998. I am just finishing up a two year total restoration. Black exterior white top and interior.
Here are some pics of my 1972 Olds 442 Convertible. When I bought it, it was red, I then had it painted a dark blue which you can see in the first picture, since the original color was viking blue, then I decided to strip the whole car down and do a total restoration on it. It is almost done, Jet Black metallic now, new interior new top, new full floor pan and soooo much more.
The first pic of the car is it at a show in my town where it had won best in show.

Welcome to the site, fellow Central NJ-ian.
I define confidence as: the ability to take a beautiful, show-quality car and tear it all apart with knowledge it will be even better than before.
When you get that baby back on the road, please post up if your heading to a show. I'd love to see it! Good luck.

Nice to meet you and glad to hear you are from NJ as well. I will let you know when the car is done and post up that I am taking it to a show. Do you ever go to Somerville on Main street on Friday nights? - they do a great show there in the summer time
Another Jersey guy. Car looks great. Just replaced my rear quarters on my '72 convertible. Lots of surprises in trunk and rocker panels. I am from North Central Jersey. Where did you get the new hood?
Nice to see so many Jersey guys on here!! Nice to meet you all.
Andrewk94 - I got my hood from a place in Warminster PA. He advertises on ebay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-1972-Ol...21dc06&vxp=mtr
He makes them just like the originals with metal underneath where the hinges are and latch is. You can use your original latch and everything, its a great hood.
Any of you jersey guys interested in some SS1 rims? I have a used set of 14x7 and 2 brand new 15x7s and 5 14x6 SSII rims with good tires on them
I've never been to the Somerville show but I have heard of it. I gotta try to get up there this year.
My town has a decent weekly show on Saturdays and they hold a higher-end show once a month. I also spend a good amount of time at Englishtown with my sons (just spectating)
Hello All you fellow guys from New Jersey. I am trying to start to do a 71 convertible myself. Looking for some body parts. If you guys know of anything can you help me out. Thanks. I am located in Central Jersey myself.
The Somerville car show is great on Fridays during the summer. About 20 minutes from where I live. What items are you looking for? Englishtown swap m is just a few weeks away. I picked up quite a few thing items there.
Welcome Buckyd1! There are lots of folks on this site with tons of parts. Get a little list going and start a thread on the "parts wanted" forum. I've had several guys help me with stuff. Good luck with your project!
Hmmm, another NJ member. Do I feel a gathering in the works???
